Things left unsaid
Two weeks ago, Trump had an epiphany that made him realized that Obama had "wiretapped" his phone at Trump Tower when he was running for president. It was clear that it had to be an epiphany because Trump was at his Winter White House at an early morning. It could not be a routine intelligence briefing as there was nothing official on the presidential scheduled calendar. No official intelligence agency has since owned up to misinforming Trump on that rumour.
I will not delve into all the lies and spin that have occurred. I will touch on a more important excuse that the Trump administration used. The British did it. Now there are two possibilities to this claim. If the British did not do it, there is a damaging falsehood to be levelled against an allied nation. Britain has assisted the Americans on more than one occasion. This would make all neighbouring countries and allies wonder who will be the next scapegoat for the US government on some insignificant issue.
Now if the British did spy on Trump as claimed by Fox News program, this is even worse. Should Sean Spicer be the first person to publicly reveal this? If there is an international incident, it is a practice that the various government agencies coordinate to report and react to the incident. Look at the British government's reaction to the news. Look at the Swedish government's reaction when Trump claim that "something" (bad) had occurred in Sweden last night. The fact that the other US government departments did not react
And after a lot of back and forth, it turned out there was no apology for the remarks. The claim that Sean Spicer was just reporting on some press releases and Fox News should be answering the questions.
