Do not try this at home
A few days ago, I wrote about a Russian minister with an absurd idea of legalizing football fights. a few days later, an American politician had to top his Russian counterpart. The congressman said during a healthcare discussion about taxing the sun. In his argument to remove the tax on tanning salons, he also raised a point that as it was International women's day and women spent more money on tanning services, repealing the tax would greatly benefit women.
I sometimes wish that politicians when they are suggesting legislation, have to admit which lobbies/constituents are interested/benefitting from it. This allows the public to question those people interested in legalizing football fights or the women demanding for lower prices for tanning services.
Update:
Sometimes I think that people are just to be funny but apparent the US politician came prepared for his tax the sun argument. He raised a point that Spain also taxed the sun (Spain had a tax on solar panels which was a poorly thought out scheme implemented in 2015 and halted in 2016.). So if the Republican ever bring up the topic of the deficit, remind them their own party congressman wasted time and money by bringing up Spain's failed "sun tax".
