Yellow

I often see images and videos of yellow chicks and ducklings but I could not find any picture of yellow poultry. I also do not see the chicks or ducklings moulting so it is not likely that the young birds shed their feathers.

It turned out that the chicks and ducklings are born with down feathers. These feathers help keep the bird warm. There are different from the outer feathers that the bird will be eventually coloured. As the chicks and ducklings grow older, they start to change colour. This is due to the outer feathers growing and changing the hue of the bird. As the feathers are softer, it is preferred padding material in pillows and cushions.
