Being able to change one's colour to match one's surrounding is quite important. What I recently saw was two Changeable lizards with two different colour on the same tree. The first lizards looks greenish.

On the other side of the same tree, its fellow Changeable lizard has a brownish hue that matches it background.

As I have stated before, most animals do not depend solely on their camouflage to hide. Both lizards scurried up the tree once they caught me looking at them.
