Going native

One problem of nativism is that the definition is often arbitrary. When I was young, I had already seen crows and naturally assumed that they are part of the local ecosystem. It turned that these crows were actually brought into a neighbouring country and they migrated south. By the time I was in school, these pests were already starting their avian domination.


So when people argue for nativism, what they are saying is that the closing hours are after their birth.

On a side note, the reason I was not able to take a single picture of a crow perched on a branch was that the murder of crows kept flying whenever I approached with my camera. They probably thought that I was a threat with my rather large camera.
