If I asked which is the critter that is the best survival prowesses in the world, you use to hear about cockroaches. It turned out that cockroaches are pretty pathetic compared to the world's toughest critter. The water bear. Also, known scientifically as the Tardigrade.
These little critters are found everywhere on Earth. Mountaintops? Found. Ocean floors? Beat all human explorers. Hot or cold temperature? Beats all comers. They need moisture to live but they can survive even dehydrated. Just add water and they revert back to normal.
Pop them into space? Returned alive. Radiation? Extreme pressure? No pressure. No food or water? Still ticking.
If it was cuter and had fur, it will be the top invasive species. Flush it down the drain? No sweat. There are its species all the way to the treatment plant. Throw it out in the wild? Family members are found in all corners of the world. Starve it? Neglect it? It can take the treatment for decades. Make tortoises and turtles look like mayflies.
