Sunbathing
Sometimes I see a bird lying on the ground or wall doing something odd.
The bird does look injured.
And then instantly when I walk towards it, it is back to normal.
Up, up and away.
The bird is sunning itself. There are many reasons for this. It could be for warmth except that the afternoon was pretty hot, preening the feathers or driving out the parasites.
It explains why this nocturnal bird is out in the sun with a sleepy look.
