Did not get the memo

Wildlife photography requires a lot of factors. One of the them is anticipation. Me see raptor land in tree.
The raptor then hopped to another tree. I would use the word glide except that the bird was moving downwards with its wings spread out. 
Now the raptor was on a branch hanging over the lake. Looking for dinner?

Clearly looking at something. Scanning the menu.
Bracing to make a decision. Any second now.
Changed its mind.
Spotted a movement.
Nah, pass.

That is why wildlife photography is challenging. All the right factors, just to fail at the wrong time.
