W is for ......

Today, we will talk about the myths of animals that start with W.

Wolves
Those animals do not have an alpha male leading them. The top dog is usually the father or the mother which exercises its might to make sure that the other offsprings have a fair share of the spoils. It is not all fun and games for the offsprings. The alpha couple does not allow the offsprings to mate so they have to do it on the sly. Except that wolves need half an hour to mate.

Woodpeckers
Not all woodpeckers do not go around hammering holes into trees to find food. They do peck out their own nest. Some are omnivores. Some forage by peeling back the bark of trees or poke into crevices. Or straight up catch insects when they see them. So far I have yet to see a woodpecker pecking at a tree.

Wolverine
One of the most ferocious animals in spite of its small built. It is an omnivore which is not a total surprise. What is more surprising is that it is a scavenger. It may wait for other predators to hunt its prey before chasing it away. Its thick hide allows it to hunt porcupines.
