This rodent saves lives every year. 

OK probably not this specific rodent which is kept in a zoo.

But this species of rodent, pouch rat is used to find mines. It is a lot faster in mine detection than human since it smells explosives rather than detect metal. (Battlefields tend to have an ungodly amount of metal for obvious reasons.)

And nobody bothers to remove their mines. It is also I support mines that blow themselves up after one to two days. It is not a perfect solution
