Scorch Earth
Today, scorch earth is considered a barbaric military tactic. It is also a war crime as the victims are usually civilians.
And Trump is using it on the American people with the government shutdown. If you do not know what a government shutdown is, it is exactly what it is named. Except for some key services, the entire government is not operating. But somehow the politicians get to keep their jobs and pay.
Except that it is sold as a plan to hurt the "enemy"

Did I mention about the $10,000 raise that is given to senior Trump official while the other federal employees have their pay frozen?
And you would not be wrong to think that the scorch earth tactic is usually selectively used. Want to guess whose properties are never destroyed or carted away to safety?
