King of wishful thinking
Today was a very good day for Kingfisher bird watching.
The first was a Stork-billed Kingfisher. It turned out this is the largest of the kingfishers. It was bigger than a Myna.
(There was another Kingfisher but it flew too fast for me to capture it.)
As you can see it was blocked by the branches so I crept around to the other side to take a photo.
The next two birds were a beauty. They are Common Kingfishers (despite their name, I had never seen them so far.)
I decided to see if I could take a picture of the two birds from the other side of the river. This is the shot from the bridge.
Both birds kept still until I reached the other side.
And finally a White-throated Kingfisher.
