Now you see me

 A few years back, I spotted this waterfowl.

Last Sunday, I spotted it again.

Ruddy Breasted Crake

It was busy preening its feathers.

When I took a step towards the bird, it promptly disappeared. Utterly discombobulated, I passed its last location. 

When I was some distance away, I saw the bird back at its original spot preening its feathers. 

This time, when I approached the bird, I saw that it duck behind the vegetation.
